Fernco drainage coupling type 1 is suitable for use in drainage systems where there is no need to consider shear loads. The drainage couplings are suitable for connecting drainage pipes made of various materials. They are available up to an outer diameter of 275 mm.

When used in conjunction with a vitrified clay pipe, these seals meet the requirements of DIN EN 295-4.

Fernco drainage couplings have numerous applications in the field of construction, repair and maintenance of drainage and other small diameter non-pressurised piping systems. These include:
