    Product Information

    Fernco have designed a dedicated range of saddles for connecting lateral pipes into larger concrete or clay pipelines. The products are designed to be as universal as possible, covering multiple sizes and brands of pipes to create permanent, reliable watertight seals.

    Saddles offer the same solution as pipe junctions, for example, lateral pipes from new build houses, road gullies etc, need to be connected into the system mains. Both saddles and junctions offer this connection but with clear differences in the installation methods.

    T-Piece: Excavation of the existing main pipeline around the entire external surface area, a section of pipe cut and removed, and pipe junction lifted into place and connected.

    Saddle method: excavation to a small top section of the main pipeline, a core hole created and the saddle connected into the cored hole.

    Connection to Clay Pipes

    The Fernco connecting element FA150ST is used to connect clay pipes to main lines made out of clay pipes and a maximal wall thickness of 50 mm.

    The compression seal as well as the bushing of the connecting element are made of a high-quality EPDM-caoutchouc. The base body and the clamping sleeve are made of ABS-plastic, the sleeve is made out of PP.

    The sleeve can bear shear load of more than 4kN without functional impairment. That exceeded the requirements of the norm (1.5 kN) multiple times. The deviation of the flexible EPDM-sleeve will be completely preserved

    Connection to Concrete Pipes

    The Fernco FA150B and FA200B connection elements are intended for connection to concrete main pipes with a wall thickness of 50 mm to 150 mm.

    Connecting DN150 lateral pipes into concrete pipelines: Unisaddle FA150B

    Connecting DN200 lateral pipes into concrete pipelines: Unisaddle FA200B

    By core drilling a hole into the pipe at 172mm (for FA150B) or 232mm (for FA200B), the saddle can be easily installed into a concrete main pipe from DN450 with a minimum wall thickness of 50mm. A suitable lateral branch connection can then be installed.

    Saddle in concrete pipe with Multibush

    The Fernco saddle FA150KG and FA200KG are designed to connect plastic pipes DN 150, or rather DN 200 with concrete pipes from DN 300 and up to DN 400 (according to DIN 4032) and concrete manholes (according to DIN 4034-1). The sealing element is made of high-quality elastomer according to EN 681-1 / DIN 4060. Because of the circumferential locking lips a permanent impervious connection is guaranteed. The special construction prevents that the saddle gets pushed from the connection through the main pipe.

    Universal Connection

    Clay pipes of nominal sizes DN 150 can be connected directly to the FAUNI element. Other types of pipe are easily connected with the patented Multibush FR 150.

    The compression seal and the sleeve of the connection element consist of an EPDM according to DIN EN 681-1. The inside is equipped with a lubricant which is activated by watering. The basic body and the clamping sleeve are made of a high-impact ABS plastic. The sleeve takes shear loads of more than 4 kN (requirements of the DIN: 1.5 kN) without impairing the function. The flexibility of the flexible elastomeric sleeve remains fully maintained.

    Depending on the nature and wall thickness of the main pipes, a different number of rings are required.

    Wall thickness from 23 mm to 30 mm = 2 rings
    Wall thickness from 28 mm to 40 mm = 1 rings
    Wall thickness from 40 mm = 0 rings
